Maurice Sendak
1928 – 2012
On May 8th, the world said goodbye to the most influential children’s author/illustrator since Dr. Seuss – Maurice Sendak, creator of Where the Wild Things Are, In the Night Kitchen, and other modern classics. Although many adults found his work too dark and complex for children to read, children never seemed to think so. Rest in peace, Mr. Sendak.
