What else do I need to know about volunteering at the Library?
As a volunteer, you represent the Loudoun County Public Library and you are expected to behave in a professional manner at all times. A few guidelines include: always wear your volunteer badge and dress appropriately, do not use your cell phone (listening to music, texting, or talking), do not eat or drink, and refer patrons to the information desk whenever they ask a question.
Do I have to attend a volunteer training or orientation?
Orientation and training vary by branch. After you submit your application you will be contacted by a branch volunteer coordinator and they will explain the requirement to you.
Does the library have volunteers serve on their advisory boards and Friends groups?
Yes, every branch has an advisory board or a Friends group. Please refer to the Advisory Board site for more information. Ask the branch manager for the contact information to their Advisory Board or Friends group.
Does the library have a Foundation?
