2011 Summer Reading Program for all ages - Tales from the Web
June 20 through August 15

  • Visit any branch to register beginning June 20. There is no online registration.
  • Kick-off programs for every age will be held during the week of June 20 through 25 at all branches – including a live concert for teens, an e-reader demo for adults and endless fun for kids!
  • Read to Give! Participate in the Summer Reading Program and help support local charities.
  • This year, we have a ‘challenge card’ for every age. Pick up yours when you register, complete the varied challenges and get your card stamped at the library to be eligible for prizes.
Ages 0-5. Tales from the Web! Challenges include:
  • Read a book about a spider.
  • Attend a storytime.
  • Read to your pet.
Ages 6-11. Tales from the Web!
Kick-off events are different at every branch and include live music, storytimes and a rocket launch!
Challenges include:
  • Listen to a book on a Playaway or CD.
  • Read an award-winning book.
  • Re-write the last chapter of your favorite book.
 Read to Win! Join the Summer Reading Program and help win a trophy for your school!

Ages 12-18. Spin it at your Library!
Kick-off concert for all teens, 7:00 pm, June 20 at Rust Library featuring live music by Disengage!
Challenges include:
  • Volunteer for 1 hour.
  • Post a review on the library’s catalog.
  • Re-read a book that you loved as a kid.
Ages 19 & up. Untangle the Technology Web!
Kick-off programs at every branch featuring our electronic resources June 21 through 23!
Challenges include:
  • Download an e-book or e-audiobook.
  • Explore a library database.
  • Check out a Playaway or audiobook.
