LCPL Zinio Magazine Collection

Welcome to Zinio, Loudoun County Public Library’s online magazine collection. Now you can download current and back issues of your favorite magazines to read on your PC, Mac, tablet, or smartphone. With more than 100 magazines on a wide range of topics, you’re sure to find something you like.

Zinio is fun and easy to use, but there are a few things you need to know:

  • After you select a magazine, you’ll be asked to create a Loudoun County Public Library Zinio account. The next step is to create a second account with Zinio, the company that hosts the library’s magazine platform. (It’s OK to use the same user name and password combination.) Confused? Don’t worry, after this setup you’ll only have to log in once when you check out.
  • Checkouts are for single issues, not for a subscription. So if you check out a monthly magazine, you’ll need to come back the following month if you want the next issue.
  • The Zinio app is for reading only. Selection and checkout must be done on a computer, not from within the app. Sorry.
  • Some Zinio features do not work with Internet Explorer 8 or below. We recommend updating or using a different browser, such as Chrome or Firefox.
We hope you enjoy using Zinio.

Harry Potter Kindle Books
Thursday, March 29, 2012

Here's what OverDrive has to say about Harry Potter Kindle books:

Dear Library Partner,

As announced earlier today, Harry Potter eBooks and digital audiobooks are now available for library lending.

Unfortunately Kindle Book download fulfillment is currently unavailable. Amazon is aware of the issue and working as quickly as possible to enable download fulfillment.

Until this issue is corrected, if a user checks out a Harry Potter eBook and selects the Kindle Book option, they will receive an error message at Amazon's website. Once fulfillment is enabled, the user can retrieve the download at that time.

Note: This does not affect the EPUB or MP3 formats of the Harry Potter titles.

We will notify you when this issue has been resolved.

Thank you,

OverDrive's Library Partner Services

We're very sorry for this delay in getting Kindle books for you, and we'll post updates as we get them.

Wild about Harry?
Thursday, March 29, 2012

Good news:  Harry Potter eBooks and eAudiobooks are now available for the first time on our OverDrive site
Not-so-good-news:  We're getting reports that Amazon is having problems getting the Kindle Book loans.  Our best guess is that Amazon and the Pottermore site are both getting swamped, and that the problem will resolve itself.  If you're having difficulties, you may just want to try again in a few hours, or of course, you can
contact us.
